Facial expression, wooden staff, beard, rippled fabric, tilted hat, lighting, texture, coloring - it's all perfect. I really can't say anything against this.
I could say that a little more backround would add to the setting, but I don't think even that would make it any better. If you wanted to do a different angle, then you could add in more of his clothing, but I think you just did the best it could be.
If you could please make a print out of this, I would be the first to buy it! Keep going - if you make everything this good, my favorites will clog.
Vision: The character of Gandalf The Grey is of epic importance in the LOTR trilogy. And this drawing of Him, here, looks just the same. His eyes, his stance and the magical light shining on Him, gives the frame the needed charm.
Originality: Of course, not your own creation. So, 4 stars. But, epic remains the same.
Technique: This is where you win it, right? You know what you do and you do it like one of the bests on this planet. So, yes, the variation and aptness of brush strokes, the skin tone, the added light effect, creates the reality of depth and space.
Impact: Blown away. Shred to pieces. Carried by the wind...etc etc etc.....
The soft pale of glow brings thoughtful intent to his scrutiny as he focuses on a distant threat, squinting as focusing an arrow on a target. The depth created as in threes-The staff, The figure & the clouded misty background. The anxious feel of what lies ahead as the past departs into the myst. Simple but speaks volumes. A minimalistic Masterpiece!
